Concert Rocked And now I know why She's rich

Well the concert was a Huge hit for April and I. We had a blast..Ok almost a little bit to much fun. We looked around and most parents looked miserable and the kids were bopping and dancing. The you look at us and it was the opposite. Meaghan thought it was too loud and it hurt her ears. I never thought to explain in advance that it would be very loud. Michaela on the other hand had a great time.
As for the Pictures they will be posted below. I was gonna photoshop a picture with the Kiss thing as I can work wonders with photoshop but the Kiss really didnt happen. It basically would never be allowed by her managment team. Just imagine how much money I coulda made selling a pic of Hilary Kissing an Older Fat Guy. I could see the Enquirer headlines now."Good girl Duff Into Older Big Guy's" yeah totally not good for her Miss innocent career.
I do have a lot of respect for her and she sends a really good message to all people not just the young girls that were in attendance. She explained before one of her songs that she wanted everyone to raise there arms as if to embrace themselves, because they should be happy to be who they are. She also said that one of her goals is to show people that you dont have to take off your cloths or dress down or expose and degrade yourself to have a good career. Just be yourself and work hard and you can do anythign you want.

I also feel bad for her as you will see in the pictures she is dead tired, she really needs to take some time off. I did 18 months of working 2 full time jobs and taking odd jobs in between and I felt the burnout . She has worked just as much but while traveling the world. Of Course she does get paid much more than I do, but it doesnt make her any less tired.

Her opening Act was from Toronto and the indie band name is "Hello Operator". They are a band that is kinda bringing back the 80's style rock. I totally enjoyed it and will be watching for them in the near future.

The overall Meet and Greet I was ""NOT""really impressed with, it was really rushed but what can you expect for free right. There were only about 20 people that got to meet her but to ensure there was enough time for everyone to get a quick poleroid she would not do autographs. We were told not to even bother asking because her management team wouldnt allow it.
Her body guards were totally huge and way bigger in person and they kinda herded everyone through to get the picture done and get out.She did say hi to everyone. I think the True Highlight of the night was April grabbin at some of her workers.

I think she is just trying to let it all out before the wedding. One of Hilary's Merchandisers were selling things and as he walked by April his butt just happened to land in her hand and she felt the need to squeeze. So let this be a warning to all Colored fella's if your butt gets to close she's gonna grab it.

To make the event truely memorable we had to buy the 40 dollar T-shirts and the 8 dollar autographed pictures, and the 5 dollar glow sticks, and the 10 dollar posters..... The list goes on trust me. In total not counting food and such I would say we spent about 225 at the concert in merchandice. I am Proud to say however that Meaghan used her 100 dollars that she had saved and that Kayla used her 20 and still owes us lots of work.

I usually pay for it all but we are trying to give them lessons in how money isnt free and it has to be managed if you want to keep it. So they work for there money(Chores to collect allowance) and then they have to save up for something they want. Meaghan does much better than Michaela, but she is 9 while Michaela is still only 6. Wait until Michaela learns about interest on money borrowed I think she will quickly learn to work harder and save more.

I have a funny system on allowance. There is 20 bucks up for grab each saturday, the amount of work completed during the week, as well as attitudes/behavior, school work and such determines who gets what share of the 20. There were a couple of weeks where Meaghan got 15 of 20 and Michaela only got 5 as Michaela is much lazier when it comes to cleaning rooms and such. But other Weeks the Drama Queen(Meaghan) goes down to 5 because of attitude. Madison doesnt have any impact on the pool yet as she is only 2 but I think she may start collecting very soon as she can be more helpful than the other 2 put together at times :~).

Yeah so I wanted to ensure that I didnt get in any trouble or ruin it for the girls at the concert, as tomorrow night is so totally for them. So I thought I would use my research skills and stuff and check into the Duff kiss thing. Then I got to see a picture of her Bodyguard and well I got a little scared. He is not what I would call a friendly looking fella. Then I got to thinking hmm all he can really do is hit me and hurt me real bad, maybe break a few bones in the process. So I am still undecided and I really think if I go ahead with it, it will depend on the moment.

I still plan on hooking up with her Guitar Player for this tour Jason Hook. I was thinking that I may try and get a lead on some BackStage passes to the Crue. Motely Crue is coming to Saint John in March and well Jason just happens to be close friends of Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx.
I mean really the girls are gonna get to see Hilary Duff, who is like there Idol and such, so why can't I hang with the guy's I grew up listening to.

I think it would be cool to try and keep up to Vince's crazy drinking. Yeah I guess he never stopped the drinking but he has cooled it down on the heavy drugs.

So If all goes well maybe I will KickStart my Heart and try a little Smoking in the Boy's room with Dr.Feelgood.

I think I better bring April with me so I'll have someone to carry me Home Sweet Home before the Girls, Girls, Girls with the Looks that kill. :~)

Which oddly enough Looks that Kill is the first song I ever played (drums)in front of a crowd. Yeah Go figure Looks that Kill at a country music gig. Someone had a little to much feelgood back then.

And for the record I have no intentions of Kissing Tommy Lee or any of the guy's.

Wow, Call me Mr. Short Work week.

Yep that's right this will be 3 short work weeks in a row.
I need to thank Monica for being so generous with her home. We had a great visit, and I think the Madison may have had the most fun of all.
Even though JJ wasnt there Monica tried her best. But seriously putting on his cloths, tucking your hair under a ball cap and talking with an accent just doesnt do it.

I almost had a friend to party with one night, but Amy doesnt like to share Mitch to much. I think she's being just a little greedy, it's not like I was gonna keep him. Where they did have to work the next day, I'll let her get away with it this time.

All of Meg's test are not so bad. She does have a new pill to take now and we will see if it is doing as it should at her next appointment in April. Still thinking about the Feb. Trip Monica.

Over all we are all doing good. I really should start posting from home so that I can get more pictures up.

I have to thank Jenny (Thanks Jen) as she has found Dad's Birth certificate which was very important to me. As most of you know legally my last name is MacAuley and not MacAulay like the rest of the Clan. I have been trying to get it changed but the NB government will not change it unless I have a copy of Dad's Birth Certificate or I can pay the 200 dollars for a name change. ( That is 200 each for me and the girls). We tried to have the girls last name spelled correctly but the NB government would not do it as the kids need to have there names spelt the same as there parents. So I argued it was there mistake and well the government is just a little bit more powerful than I. So now that I have the proof that they (The Gov) was wrong I can do an in your face and give a little attitude.

Short work week Yeah.

Well it is yet another short work week. I work today and tomorrow then it is off to Halifax for our IWK visit. I hate the thought of the driving in the winter and all but the visiting is always fun. Last visit had a suprise birthday party for Meaghan and WoW was she ever suprised. She didnt have a clue at all. I'm gonna miss JJ on this trip ( not to say that no one else if fun) but the girls can talk wedding stuff while the guy's can do the stuff that guy's do. But I am outnumberd in the guy department this weekend.

Maybe I can hook up with Brian, he's a good friend from Fredericton that has moved to Halifax a couple years ago. I am sure we can find a place to drink beer.

I dont know about the kids but I am getting excited about the concert. It will be like my first concert in about 10 years. So it's Hilary Duff and I am not into her music oh well, it is still a concert.

a Weekend of nothingness!! Hmm is that a word.

Ahh Friday the 13th is here and for once in our non-stop, ever going, always doing lifestyle, we have no plans.

It feels kinda great. We have no promises to visit anyone, no one has made plans to visit us that we know of. Although we always welcome visitors.

It is much easier to have people visit us simply because packing for 4 kids drives April crazy. Me being one of the 4 kids of course :~). Then I get to attempt to load the van. I always say "Were not moving, just going for a visit". But for some reason we need like 30 bags of stuff for every climate change and any occasion. I guess it is best to be prepared for anything. Maybe we can use this weekend to prepare for our IWK Hospital trip mid next week. Halifax for 3-5 days ( I better call uHaul. Just Kidding).

I am thinking that I may try to get a babysitter for Saturday night so that April and I can go out and have fun.

That is something that rarely ever happens but I think we may be due. Maybe we can catch a movie or go to a nightclub, or even just drive around the block, not talk and enjoy the quiet. The quiet, now that sounds nice but in reality I know for a fact that after being without quiet for so long we can only handle it in small doses.

Oh well back to work with me before people wonder why I look so busy. :~)

Rockin to the Oldies

Well, I finally got the reception hall and the Band booked for the wedding. Once I found out how expensive DJ's were I went back to searching for a Band and I found one. It is music that April and I both like and the price was awesome. So then we though hmm I wonder if everyone else is going to like the music, then I really thought about and figured who is going to be sober enough to really care. Anyhow the band is a 50's through 80's rock group called Flashback you can check out there song list at their website:

I like a lot of the tunes and figured older folks like Mom will like the country selections. So it isnt todays rock but they do have a Pearl Jam tune. I really wanted to book Metalica but they were busy, go figure April's not into Heavy Metal and she figures she has a say.

Were not even married yet and she wants to have a say in things. Oh no what have I gotten into. LOL. Just kidding.

I guess that's it for today I got to be off to miramichi for a couple hours today. I enjoy working at Ubie's in Tracadie I get paid to drive 3 hours there then drive 3 more hours home and the work is usually very easy.

Girls, Girls, Girls

What a weekend, It was so wild that I can only now(Tuesday) Blog about it.
CLiff and I got to go out on Friday night(Guy's night out) and to our suprise we did much better than the last guy's night out. Last time we were home by 9pm and we were made fun of like you wouldn't believe. So this time we went all out, and stayed out until the wee morning hours. Oh yeah we showed April and her twisted sisters (Myra and Val) this time.

So the next day April and her sisters got to go out while Cliff and I watched the 6 girls. Then the Neighbors girl came over. Oh yeah a full night of partying just to be faced with 7 girls ranging in age from 9 right down to 2 the next morning. We Sure showed them. LOL

All in all it was still worth it and yeah I'd do it again.

As for the Wedding, Bands are a little more expensive than I remembered but so far the DJ's I've seen are not much cheaper. But we are booking the hall this week (tomorrow) and well the church thing is already all set up, so it's coming along.

The girls are bad as ever. I dont know what were going to do with that Madison as she gets older. In her mind she can already kick my butt. It is funny to watch she comes over all cute and stuff and says "Wanna fight", and before I can respond these 2 little fists of fury let go on me. Boxing at the age of 2 hmmm we may have a champ. She already has the scarey face part down.

And the Winner is.

OK, So I post about our good fortune of getting the Duff backstage passes but now I am starting to think that I may have went just a wee bit overboard on it all. In my efforts to succeed, I entered like every contest going relating to her and to my Suprise, I'm a Winner. I get home yesterday to find out that I had Won 2 ticlets to the Sold out Hilary duff concert. So with my string of luck I figured Lotto Tickets. and I hope it works.

I figure I can win lots of stuff to go see a Skinny,Popular,Famous, Rich 18 year old, Maybe I can win enough money to make me Skinny, Popular, Famous and Rich. I can then act like I am 18 again. :~)

Umm ok I might as well say it myself. I do still act like I am 18 all the time now as it is. But I think of it this way, If I can act the way that makes me happy and still have a great family, Why not.

A Hero, A KIss and an Embarrassment, oh my!!

I know it is hard to believe, ME embarrassing but I think it may be true.

It all started with Monica mentioning the Hilary Duff Concert. The girls are huge fans of Hilary, so I thought the ultimate Christmas gift was to get some tickets and suprise them. I stood in line at harbour station in SaintJohn and got the tickets. Looking back the girls now feel a little silly for cursing dad out for being so long while they stayed in the van with mom. They didnt know why I was there but I was taking too long and it was boring. At least they had heat I was standing outside :~)

But Being the way that I am I have to go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to try and get them to meet Hilary Duff.
Oh yeah, I called record labels and called in favors to friends at Radio stations. Tried to find out which security company was doing the concert. Get this I even got in touch with a guy who I drank with maybe twice and that was like 15-18 years ago, simply because he is her touring guitar player. I am meeting up with Jason in Saint John before the concert, I think he was just being nice and if he did remember me he definately wont recognize me, I only put on like 200 lbs since then.

Anyhow Hilary's Fan club was having a contest so I entered each day, Giving the most appropriate answer that research could find to the question they had posed.

And to shorten this horribly long story I got 4 Meet and Greet Passes to meet Hilary before the concert. And that is how Dad became the Hero. I actually think April and I are more excited than the girls.

So now for the embarrassing part. I took the girls out to lunch to Semi-celebrate and tell them the big news. They were totally excited until...

I told them that for all the hard work I have done in getting the passes I was gonna ask Hilary for a Big Wet Kiss<<Licking my lips and making slobbering noises to dramatize the effect of course>>. Meaghan laughed knowing (thinking) that I was joking, but poor Michaela. With a shocked look on her face she say's "DAAAAD, Just don't do that OK . Don't do that." She so reminds me of Amy. "Uncle Henry, please dont drive me to my friends in Gym Pants covered with Jean shorts and Cowboy boots. It's so embarrasing". "Uncle Henry, Please dont follow us in the mall." LOL ahh the good old days.

It was like giving me a peek into the years to come. I could see it in her head at that very moment. "OK Like Dad, like dont go there OK"

So now my dilema is do I ask for the kiss or not...LOL I have tormented Monica and Amy to death when they were kids and they still remember it like yesterday, So maybe they can answer this question.

Will asking for a kiss mean the old folks home for dad? In the years to come the girls do get to make these decisions, will they remember that first time dad totally did an embarrassing thing?

I guess we will have to see my mood on the 26th of January.

OK OK SO I did it Already

So Everyone has now entered into this world of Blogs, and being a computer guy, it just seems wrong to sit at computers for like 16 hours a day and not find at least 5 minutes to type something out.

I have also noticed a string of pictures running throughout sites. and I figured I would add a few myself that I have recevied via Complements of Steven. After seeing these pictures I had realized that I am not that Skinny, Goofy dude anymore, I am now 3 of him :~) . I do I get a kick outta how goofy some of them are but in reality it wouldnt be me if it wasn't goofy. (Right Monica) :~)
